New Year New Style Icons

Paris has a new It girl, Clémence Poésy. The 24-year-old favours a street-smart mix peppered with designer names like Balenciaga, Chloé, and Isabel Marant. Her perfectly unstudied style, coupled with a seriously enviable bone structure, have landed her in the front row at Chanel shows, on the cover of magazines (including the April 2007 i-D, cast by an admiring Nicolas Ghesquière), and now, in a coveted advertising campaign. Next spring, she'll appear alongside Chloë Sevigny and Anja Rubik as the faces of Chloé's newest fragrance. From whence did this budding fashion muse emerge? Poésy launched her acting career a decade ago in a play, Mai '45, Mai '95, written by her father, theater actor and director Étienne Guichard, but her international breakthrough came when she was cast as the haughty Fleur Delacour in 2005's Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

The size 0 debate - beth ditto became an unlikely style icon and inspiration. Voted NME queen on cool and poses naked on the front cover!

Celebrity Fashion ranges for kate moss, the miller sisters and the olsen twins. Also Christopher Kane does his own diffusion range of topshop!

The beckhams big move to LA, good luck america with this pair! I am not a fan of them but they certainly made the move of adverting thier big move. everything was totally major including this sexy photoshoot!

Alexa Chung - my style icon

Alexa Chung television presenter, actress and former model. She co-hosted T4's Popworld on Channel 4 and has co-starred in Ben Elton's comedy series Get A Grip for ITV. She currently presents Channel 4's early-morning music show Freshly Squeezed.

Chung appeared in music videos for artists such as Reuben, The Streets, Holly Valance, Delta Goodrem and Westlife as well as a "scripted reality TV" micro-series for Fashion TV called 'Shoot Me' opposite Yasmin Le Bon, and numerous commercials and editorial shoots. She infamously shared a kiss with Holly Valance in the music video for her 2002 single "Down Boy".

Chung has been seen on a number of occasions as a presenter on Channel 4's T4 and she was the first female presenter of Big Brother's Big Mouth, on Channel 4 and E4, from June 12 to June 15 and Channel 4's coverage of V2007 in August. She has also made an appearance on an episode of 8 Out Of 10 Cats. on June 29.

Chung writes a regular column in Company magazine.

Apart from all this is has great style and is currently dating Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner and is friends with other style icon such as Peaches and Pixie Geldof, Kelly O and Dasiy Lowe.

She seems to love her high waist skirt, ankle boots, dresses checked shirt blazer and leather jackets! I wish i could raid her wardrobe.

Chanel comes to town

A little late for this post but it was such an amazing fashion night so I had to mention and write about it.

DECEMBER 2007 - Karl Lagerfeld brought Chanel's annual Maisons d'Art collection to London for a one-off show - with the likes of Claudia Schiffer, Thandie Newton, Natalia Vodianova, Emma Thompson and Chanel muse Lily Allen in the audience. Model Irina Lazareanu and Sean Lennon took to the stage to provide the soundtrack to the show, which proved to be a sumptuous collection of French elegance mixed with British punk

Chanel celebrates its first ever fashion show in London and pays tribute to Karl Lagerfeld – the couturier who has wielded the French fashion house for over 25 years. Guests celebrated Chanel's legendry dinner at Nobu Berkeley in Mayfair, included Kylie Minogue - who wore a Chanel couture beaded gown, New muse Emma watson - who looked stunning for an 18 year old.

The Catwalk Show

The hair was a beehive disintegrating into a haystack. The eyes had a dark, decadent flick of liner. The bag flagged its Cool Britannia connection with a Union Jack pattern.
Was this wild rocker look in honor of Amy Winehouse, she of the updated Brigitte Bardot hairstyle, multi-tattoos and Grammy nominations? Would the troubled but most lauded singer of her generation actually perform on the set Chanel had rigged up for its "Paris-Londres" fashion show last week?
In fact, it was model-turned-rocker Irina Lazareanu, one of Karl Lagerfeld's favorite incarnations of Coco Chanel, who took the microphone, while Sean Lennon and his band created a cacophony of sound.
Yet Amy met Coco in the clothes. They were mostly long and dark, shown with flat shoes but highlighted with Gothic crosses, gilded lace gloves or just a fringed front to a maxi tweed coat to express Winehouse's edgy unraveling.

British Fashion Awards

Stella McCartney, Vivienne Westwood, Agyness Deyn... the biggest names in British Fashion were out on the town last week at the British Fashion Awards.
And it wasn't a bad night for these girls: Stella scooped the designer of the year accolade, Dame Vivienne took home the outstanding achievement in fashion design award and Agyness walked away with the model of the year prize.

Emilia Fox looked as pretty as a pixie. I love her cropped jacket and black and white dress!

Agyness Deyn was the star of the show at last night's British Fashion Awards. Not only did she wear the most stunning outfit of the evening, she also walked away with the Model of the Year prize

Kelly Osbourne is definitely becoming a real glampuss of late. Here in regal scarlet, she strikes a pose. I love her stain oversized clutch, so beautiful!

Savannah Miller's style is Pretty, fresh, intelligent and elegant as she shows here, anothert cropped jacket to love and lush after from her own range.






















Lily has really gone to town with her outfit. Her beautiful dresses and peep-toe shoes are just lovely Its not really my style of taste but she pull it off. However, I can't help but feel that this pink number would have been better suited to the summer months.
















Stella McCartney took home the coveted Designer of the Year Award. Wearing all her own designs, I love her Jophurs!

Thandie Newton seems to be one of those enviable types who never gets it wrong, sartorially speaking.

Fetish model and burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese looked sassy in a scooped neck dress, accessorised with the shoes-of-the-moment, Louboutins of course. I am always so jealous of Miss Von Teese overall polished look.

















My second-favourite outfit award has to go to model Daisy Lowe, daughter of Primrose Hill set gal, Pearl. I love the swirly artwork on the arms and legs. So different.













Kimberly Stewart went a vixen-like on the red carpet. I like the simple chic very much. I am loving her new edgy look these days - Red lipstick rocks!

Lou Doillon

Lou Doillon is so uber cool in France right now, even her wikipedia description makes her sound cool, "Lou Doillon is the daughter of film director Jacques Doillon and singer-actress Jane Birkin. Her half-sisters are actress Charlotte Gainsbourg and photographer Kate Barry."
Being the daughter of Jane Birkin must put fashion expectations pretty high! Doillon pulls it off and her style is a bit like a French Kate Moss (except more chic). She is rarely seen without skinny jeans and often teams them with a jacket such as a biker jacket, blazer or miltary coat.

She is so chic and dresses like nobody less. I love out she mixes gender styles.

Spice Fashion

Roberto Cavalli created the costumes for thier worldwide tour “The return of the Spice Girls” which marks their comeback. The designer has managed to lend his unmistakable signature to each spicy outfit, which will show their individuality and show a glamorous image.

Among the highlights, the five women - Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, Melanie B, Melanie C and Victoria Beckham- wear creations that will include white and black tuxedos, shiny minidresses embroidered with Swarovsky crystals and feathers, leather corsets and neon colored jumpsuits. Show stopping yes but quick frankly I just dont like them. From the block colour outfits to the leather. The Spices Girls did always wear crazy clothes but i'm just not keen.

Do the outfits actually fit?! They look like they were made for Victoria beckham. The others are not better than Victoria Beckham and I dont particularlly like her style. Mel B, Emma, Mel C and Geri all have fantastic figures but everything looks pulled and tight.

I still dont know what to make of these silver outfits leggings and long corsets Victoria Beckham is wearing. I dont mind the rest of the outfits though.

I have no words for these outfits. Why? They all sat round whilst filming the awful tesco adverts and must of saw childrens halloween outfits, Victoria probably fit in to hers right there and then.

Victoria another Version of the silver. I have no idea whats going on with the rest, geri looks nice but then shes so slim she could pull them off. what is Mel C wearing?!

Leather! I am guessing this again Victorias input with Geris man on leads input - remember her solo career with that song with men with pink hair and them on leads? Vagely at all? No me either. I saw it on google image when I looked for these pictures.

The High Life

High Waist Jeans

I have an obsession at the moment with all things high waisted, shorts shirt and jeans. I own a pair of shorts and love them in the non trassy WAG kind of way. I brought some Topshop high waist K jeans for 10 pounds the other day and today they came, then the obsession grew as i tried them on with a range of tops, some looking awful (see Jessica Simpson) some looking good (see Kate Moss (i wish)) Tight tops do not look good with my boobs, i did not want to look like my jeans were a bra as well or that my hips stuck out in them. I am a size 10 america 6 and for some reason thought i would be able to pull them off. I have realised non clingy baggy tops work best for my body with the jeans and a waist is a definatley must!

Many celebs have tried to pull off this look and many are successfull must unsuccessful has to be jessica simpson! I do not need to shpow this picture as many have seen it before however here are a few who I do like, I wish I have the figure of Rachel Bilson to pull off a fitted vest top.

The Hills Wrap Party

You gotta love the hills, its so fake and dramatic its unreal. You have to love Whitney Port, she has by far the best fashion sense out of all the others put together! I am loving her ankle boots. I just bought a similar pair myself but off the high street from office. See below. I love them! Although I wore them out Saturday night and after a while of dancing and walking about the started to hurt. Cushion pads are needed! I have never used these before but I do hope they work.

Spring 08

I feel its too early to start thinking about spring but seen as I am skint and probably wouldn't have any money until Spring 08, I thought I'd show a few of the spring clothes and styles I like.

I love the high waist jeans and skirts. I like the simplicity of the styles and colour. I love the coolness of the T-shirts as well. I shall be channelling simple and modern in 08.
